Design + Make

Design + Make explores the opposing qualities my land, Iceland, and the ways the elements stimulate the senses. Tactile patches created from textile scraps were made with seemingly random techniques resembling the chaotic and unpredictable ways nature grows, thrives and decays. The project is a study of how harshness and softness can co-exist, how decay and degeneration births new life, and how chaos and adversity brings forth opportunity and potential for something new.
